ICAP Alumni Success Stories Seminar

Lahore: April 5th, 2017 – The Institute of Chartered Accountants Pakistan (ICAP) recently held an Alumni Success Stories Seminar 2017, at the ICAP Auditorium, Karachi. The objective of this seminar was to provide guidance to the freshly qualified CA’s and trainee’s, regarding career development, growth and progress. It was aimed at bringing together outstanding Chartered Accountants with the recently qualified and trainee students on one platform so they can discuss, motivate, teach and guide the existing students and help them in their future.

This seminar was conducted by four learned speakers – members of the ICAP Alumni. These sessions were followed by an address by the President of ICAP. The guest speakers included; Rashid Masood Alam – Financial Controller at Jorhum KSA, Ms. Sarah Kamal – Finance Manager of Customer & Channel Development at Unilever Pakistan, Mr. Farhan M. Haroon – Finance Director at GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, and Mr. Abdul Malik – Secretary at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.The speakers highlighted the importance of role models and how they help and guide students in the right direction as they make life decisions, they provide inspiration and support when needed, and they provide examples of how to live a fulfilling, happy life. The speakers emphasized that role models motivate, teach and guide people to uncover their true potential and overcome barriers during professional and personal life but then again the students should also have proactive approach towards problem solving and career building. During the session the speakers shared their professional experience, which was followed by question and answer session. The banking sector, pharmaceutical industry, multinational corporations were all represented by the speeches from diverse backgrounds.President of ICAP, Mr. Nadeem Yousuf Adil, the chief guest on the occasion acknowledged the Alumni for taking time out and for young chartered accountants. He added that young chartered accountants should learn from the knowledge and experiences of their seniors. The Institute will continue to arrange such programs for its students and will provide guidance and support to its members and trainee students. The participants applauded the efforts of the Institute towards professional development of members and trainee students. At the end of the program President ICAP distributed shields to the guest speakers.
