Pakistan’s Biggest IT Delegation makes a mark at LEAP Riyadh Technology Event 2022.
The Pakistani pavilions exhibiting at LEAP Riyadh 2022 was inaugurated by HE Lt. Gen (R) Mr. Bilal Akbar, Ambassador of Pakistan to Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Mr. Osman Nasir – MD Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Mr. Muhammad Zohaib Khan – Chair of P@SHA Brand Pakistan Committee and Mr. Azhar Dahar – Minister for Trade, Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh was also in attendance.
At the inauguration of the Pakistani Pavilions at LEAP, The Ambassador of Pakistan to Riyadh, HE Mr. Bilal Akbar, stated, “Pakistan’s booming IT industry has tremendous potential to grow beyond borders and expand to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Pakistan Embassy is thrilled to facilitate the companies in whichever way possible and wishes them the best of luck with their endeavors here.”
The LEAP technology event, taking place from 1st to 3rd February, 2022, is a global platform for the innovation ecosystem, connecting pioneers and disruptors with business and government leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, venture capitalists and more to experience and learn about the technologies of the future. All the biggest tech companies of the world are participating in this event. Companies from almost 90 countries have their presence here and amongst all of them, Pakistan has the biggest presence constituting around 100 delegates along with 40 exhibiting companies.
With the collaboration of Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Pakistan formed a pavilion comprising 40 companies and startups at LEAP this year. This is the biggest number of companies Pakistan’s IT industry has ever represented at a global platform as of yet, showcasing a diverse range of MSMEs and startups. This is aligned with the strategic objective of P@SHA and PSEB to promote Pakistan as the “Tech Destination” while TDAP has played a pivotal role in facilitating the businesses from Pakistan.
On February 2nd 2022, P@SHA & PSEB through the Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh, held a “Tech Destination Networking Meetup” in collaboration with and at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce for Pakistani and Saudi CxOs, industry leaders and investors to engage in information exchange and business matchmaking. P@SHA is strategically leading the Pakistani companies at LEAP with the support of all relevant stakeholders and also prepared a Pakistan Portfolio of the participant organizations which was shared with the invitees of Riyadh Chamber.
