Mandi Bahauddin Raises Awareness for Breast Cancer

Mandi Bahauddin recently observed Breast Cancer Awareness Week with a seminar and awareness walk at City Hospital. The event aimed to educate the public about prevention and early detection of breast cancer.

District Medical Officer Dr. Nayab addressed the seminar, highlighting the alarming statistic that 1 in 9 married women in Pakistan are affected by breast cancer. He emphasized the importance of breastfeeding for two years as a protective measure for children and encouraged regular check-ups for early detection.

Following the seminar, Dr. Humira Farrukh Wadigar led a walk to raise awareness about breast cancer. The walk saw enthusiastic participation from paramedical staff, doctors, and the public.

This initiative by City Hospital and the district health authorities is a commendable effort in raising awareness about this critical health issue and empowering individuals to take proactive steps towards prevention and early detection.
