Usman Institute Of Technology Hosts COMNET ‘17 National ICT Conference
KARACHI – March 14, 2017:In line with its commitment to foster technology in the country, Pakistan’s premier technology education provider, Usman Institute of Technology, hosted the 7th COMNET NationalConference. Themed ‘The Next Generation ICT Infrastructure,’ the Conference explored the challenges and complexities of both global and local ICT infrastructure and how Pakistan can benefit from these technology.
The objective of the annual conference was to highlight the importance of a stronger and more sustainable infrastructure for Information and Communication Technology. The ICT sector has made tremendous contributions to digital and financial inclusion in Pakistan and carries immense potential to revolutionize the country’s technological landscape. The conference was witnessed by high profile IT, ICT and Telecom gurus, top industry professionals including CEOs and CTOs, high-level academics including deans, directors and faculty members, as well as students of various engineering, science & technology institutions from Pakistan.The dynamic event opened with a Conference Session on ICT Infrastructure where Mr. Ashraf Kapadia, Country Manager Pakistan at AT&T, Mr. Zia Ullah Khan, CEO at PanacloudPvt Ltd., Ms. Sophia Hasnain, Trends and transformational consultant, Mr. DaniyalSaleem from Microsoft Pakistan and Mr. WaqaruddinUsmani, visiting faculty in different universities of Karachi has shared their thoughts on the subject. The enlightening conference session was followed by a Panel Discussion on ‘Bridging the Gap between Industry and Academia’ joined by CTOs of organizations and academic Deans. The event also encompassed a number of other vibrant activities such as competitionsin Clash of Codes and Clash Royale, and a Technical Workshop on ‘Computer Communication Networking.’“We are proud to have hosted the prestigious COMNET National Conference for yet another year and are delighted that UIT is playing its part in introducing the latents technology in Pakistan,” said Dr. Zahir A. Faculty of UIT arranges different educational events for students and public at large. There are two international societies currently working for the grooming of future engineers and scientists. These two International societies include IEEE UIT Student Branch under the supervision of Engr. AtifFareed, and Association for Computing Machinery under the supervision of Engr. PrakashLohana, working for the well-rounded development of students that encompasses technical knowledge, skills and character-building.
