Transforming Futures: 44 interns conclude Summer Internship Program with Ufone

Ufone’s flagship Summer Internship Program 2019 successfully concluded with a closing ceremony organized at Ufone Tower, Islamabad. The program commenced on 17th of June, 2019 and after a competitive selection process, 44 interns were on-boarded from 15 universities across Pakistan. The batch of 2019 had been shortlisted from a pool of more than 1500 candidates that went through 3 competitive stages of assessment.

The selected interns worked on key projects with Finance, Commercial, Technology, Human Resources and Customer Operations teams which helped them to expand their professional experience. They were placed in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore office under experienced staff of Ufone which developed them in their professional and personal development via real-time tasks and assignments.

The 6 to 8 weeks long internship program ensured coaching and training of young talent through peer to peer learning, mentoring from line managers and working on new projects with skill development being the key focus.

The internship drive concluded with a graduation ceremony through which interns were acknowledged for their efforts. Amongst the attendees was a gracious representation of dignitaries from the academia.

General Manager Human Resources, Ufone praised the interns for their commitment to learn and their willingness to live up to Ufone’s culture and values during the internship program.

Along with gaining professional experience, interns were also made part of CSR initiatives to impart a sense of social responsibility. The interns participated in a various CSR activities, epitomizing the Ufone experience, including visiting and conducting activities with the students of Hunehar Welfare School in Islamabad, tree plantation activities and clean-up drives across the three cities in which all the interns participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Ufone’s Summer Internship Program is a project-based internship initiative designed to help students who are ready to enter the job market by giving them the opportunity of working under supervision of experienced professionals. This program enables Ufone to help bridge the gap between industry and academia while providing the company with a pool of ready talent for future business needs.
