PepsiCo to make ‘Millions of Meals’ available to communities impacted by COVID-19 outbreak

30th March 2020, Lahore: PepsiCo Pakistan announced the launch of ‘Million of Meals’ program. Through this program, PepsiCo is partnering with reputed charitable organizations to make millions of meals available to communities nationwide, impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.
As economic activity is decelerated to combat the COVID-19 epidemic, an increasing number of people are faced with loss of income and earning opportunities. The daily wage workers are particularly vulnerable as they face an immediate loss of livelihood. In these circumstances the need for providing meals to underprivileged communities becomes the foremost requirement. This emergency disaster relief program is a nationwide program that is being run with the help of charitable organizations that are active on the ground at the grass root level.
Furqan Ahmed Syed, CEO PepsiCo Pakistan and Afghanistan said, “In the face of this unprecedented crisis, PepsiCo will be at the forefront of providing assistance to the most vulnerable. PepsiCo is launching the ‘Millions of Meals’ program to meet essential nutrition needs of impacted people across Pakistan. We are identifying passionate and dedicated partners who can very quickly make “Millions of meals” available to those in need. We are a resilient nation and we will overcome this challenge together.”
The ‘Millions of Meals’ program is rooted in PepsiCo’s global vision of Winning with Purpose’, the company’s commitment to do good for the planet and the communities it operates in. Millions of Meals program is one example of how PepsiCo is providing critical support to communities affected by COVID-19 around the world. The ‘millions of meals’ program is partly funded by The PepsiCo Foundation, the philanthropic arm of PepsiCo. The PepsiCo Foundation is investing to aid the most vulnerable in numerous countries and is partnering with peers and the public sector to maximize impact.
