Finance Minister Meets Mobile Phone Manufacturers, Assures Support for Local Industry

Islamabad, July 18, 2024: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with a delegation from the Pakistan Mobile Phone Manufacturers Association (PMPMA) at the Finance Division today. The meeting aimed to discuss the issues faced by the local mobile phone manufacturing industry and explore ways to promote its growth.

The PMPMA delegation, comprising senior representatives from the industry, thanked the Finance Minister for his support and highlighted the need for a stable and supportive policy environment to encourage local manufacturing. They emphasized the importance of international brands supporting the domestic industry and contributing to the national economy.

The delegation presented proposals to boost the local industry’s growth and increase mobile phone exports. Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb assured the delegation of his support and acknowledged the significance of the mobile phone manufacturing industry in Pakistan’s economy. He pledged to consider the proposals and work towards creating a favorable environment for the industry’s growth.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from relevant ministries, and both sides agreed to continue the dialogue to ensure the growth and development of the local mobile phone manufacturing industry.
