Pakistani Nationals Fall Prey to Job Scams in Malaysia: High Commission Sounds Alarm

Islamabad Special Report, The High Commission of Pakistan in Kuala Lumpur has sounded the alarm on employment scams targeting Pakistani nationals in Malaysia. In a letter to the Pakistani government, the High Commission warned of fraudulent agents promising lucrative jobs but delivering fake employment contracts, tourist visas, and unqualified employers instead.

The scammers charge exorbitant fees and use social media to lure victims, forcing them into labor exploitation, human trafficking, and modern slavery. The High Commission has received multiple complaints and has alerted Pakistani authorities, including the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), to investigate and take action against these unscrupulous agents.

*”We urge Pakistani nationals to exercise extreme caution when seeking employment opportunities in Malaysia,”* the High Commission advised. *”Verify the authenticity of employment offers and employers through official channels, and report any suspicious activities to the authorities immediately.”*

This warning comes as a crucial alert for Pakistani citizens seeking employment in Malaysia, highlighting the need for vigilance and cooperation between authorities to protect against such exploitation.
