Demand of Balochistan government to crack down on anti-state social media accounts

Islamabad, Special Report: After the recent serious incidents of terrorism in Quetta
Balochistan’s home department has formally requested Pakistan’s interior ministry to take legal action against social media accounts allegedly involved in “anti-state and subversive activities”.

The department claims 100 Facebook and other social media apps accounts are spreading propaganda against Pakistan, posing a threat to national security. A list of accounts has been compiled and shared with federal authorities.

The Balochistan government has appealed to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to initiate legal action and block these accounts.

In this regard, responsible government sources have said that, The move highlights growing concerns in Pakistan about misuse of social media platforms for activities deemed harmful to national interests.
