Three Lives Lost in Upper Kohistan Flood Tragedy

Upper Kohistan, Pakistan – A devastating flood incident has claimed the lives of three people in Upper Kohistan, where a rope trolley connecting Kuma village to the city was washed away by raging floodwaters.

The tragedy occurred when the victims attempted to cross the swollen Indus River, which had overflowed its banks due to recent monsoon rains. Despite warnings and a social media campaign highlighting the dangers, the administration failed to intervene, leading to the tragic loss of life.

According to sources, two of the victims have been identified as Muhammad Sher, son of Qaiser, and Fidaur Rehman, son of Mir Alam, both from Khairza Khel Sakna Keegah. Their bodies are still missing, and search efforts are ongoing.

The incident has raised concerns about the lack of preparedness and response from local authorities in the face of natural disasters. An investigation into the tragedy is expected to follow.
