Kabul, October 27, 2024: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kabul commemorated October 27th as “Black Day” to mark the anniversary of India’s “illegal occupation” of Jammu and Kashmir.
Ambassador Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani addressed a gathering at the embassy, denouncing India’s actions and highlighting the ongoing struggle for self-determination in Kashmir. He emphasized that the dispute remains unresolved despite numerous UN Security Council resolutions affirming the Kashmiri people’s right to decide their own future through a plebiscite.
Ambassador Nizamani also condemned India’s human rights record in Kashmir, citing reports from international organizations and UN bodies that document widespread abuses. He called on the international community to pressure India to implement the UN resolutions and allow the Kashmiri people to exercise their right to self-determination.
The event included messages from Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri cause. A documentary on the Kashmir conflict was also screened.
