Pakistan’s Federal Government Goes Digital with Mandatory E-Office System

Islamabad,Zubair kasuri Pakistan – In a move towards enhanced efficiency and transparency, the Prime Minister’s Office has announced the mandatory implementation of the E-Office system for all federal ministries and divisions starting November 1st, 2024. This decision, communicated through an official memorandum dated October 22nd, 2024, mandates that all summaries and files be processed exclusively through the E-Office platform.

The E-Office system is a digital workplace solution designed to replace traditional manual file handling with an electronic system. This shift is expected to streamline administrative processes, reduce delays, and improve accessibility to information. The initiative aligns with the government’s broader vision of promoting e-governance for better service delivery and accountability.
This announcement follows a series of communications and directives issued by the Prime Minister’s Office earlier this year, outlining the government’s commitment to the digital transition. The Cabinet Division and Establishment Division have been specifically instructed to ensure compliance with this new policy across all federal departments.
The move has been welcomed by many as a significant step towards modernizing government operations and reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks. However, successful implementation will depend on the government’s ability to provide adequate training and support to ensure a smooth transition for all stakeholders.
