Pakistan and Russia Strengthen Ties, Denounce Islamophobia

MOSCOW – In a meeting held today at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, Speaker of the Pakistan National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Muftis Damir Mukhetdinov discussed strengthening ties between Pakistan and Russia.

Speaker Sadiq praised Russia’s growing relationship with the Muslim world and expressed appreciation for the country’s stance on Islamophobia, highlighting President Putin’s recent statement on respecting holy religious figures.

He also commended Russia for its inter-faith harmony and peaceful coexistence of various religions.

Both leaders expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people and agreed to continue cooperation in religious and cultural spheres.
Speaker Sadiq is currently on an official visit to Moscow from November 27-29 at the invitation of his Russian counterpart.

This visit marks a significant step in the growing relationship between Pakistan and Russia, emphasizing shared values and cooperation on issues of religious tolerance and international relations.
