Shakargarh Gears Up for Three-Day Celebration of Baba Guru Nanak’s 555th Birth Anniversary

Shakargarh, Pakistan – The city of Shakargarh is abuzz with excitement as it prepares to host three days of festivities commemorating the 555th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism. The celebrations, centered at the revered Darbar Baba Guru Nanak Kartarpur, are set to commence today.

A significant highlight of the occasion is the arrival of 3,000 Sikh pilgrims from India who have journeyed through the Wagah border crossing. These devotees will spend two days immersed in the spiritual atmosphere of Kartarpur, paying their respects at the gurdwara and participating in religious rituals associated with Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary.

The pilgrims, representing various regions of India, have come together to honor the life and teachings of Guru Nanak. Their presence underscores the significance of the Kartarpur Corridor in facilitating cross-border religious harmony and exchange.

The celebrations will culminate on November 20th with a closing prayer, after which the pilgrims will depart from Kartarpur. The three-day event promises to be a vibrant display of faith and cultural unity, fostering a spirit of peace and understanding.
