Abbottabad Police Launch New App to Recover Lost and Stolen Mobile Phones

Abbottabad: Abbottabad Police, in collaboration with COMSATS University, has launched a new mobile application to trace lost and stolen mobile phones. Called “E Devise -CR”, the app will require users and mobile phone dealers to register the IMEI numbers of devices at the time of purchase and sale. This record will be stored at the police headquarters, which will help in tracing lost and stolen mobile phones.

The app was inaugurated by DPO Abbottabad, Omar Tufail, during a ceremony held at COMSATS University. During the Science Expo 2024 at COMSATS University, the developers briefed the participants about the app. DPO Omar Tufail said that with this app, stolen mobile phones will now be traced immediately.

This app is expected to reduce mobile phone theft and make it easier for citizens to recover their valuable belongings.
