Smartphone and Feature Phone Imports Dip in December Amid Holiday Season

Islamabad,
Special Report
January 4, 2025 – Pakistan witnessed a decline in smartphone and feature phone imports this past December, with a total of 3.5 million units brought into the country. Market analysts attribute this dip to the holiday season and the fact that many brands have already fulfilled their annual import targets.
Infinix led the smartphone import category, followed by Tecno and Xiaomi. In the feature phone segment, iTel took the top spot, with Nokia and Vego tel trailing behind.
Industry experts note that while the decrease in imports is typical for this time of year, it remains to be seen how the market will respond in January. With the market already saturated, it will be interesting to observe which brands continue to import devices and how they strategize to gain market share in the new year.
