DCO Peshawar Abida Maryam Lodhi Leads Major Crackdown on Ticketless Travel

Peshawar, Pakistan — Staff Report:
Divisional Commercial Officer (DCO) Peshawar Division, Dr. Abida Maryam Lodhi, has once again demonstrated her commitment to discipline and transparency within Pakistan Railways by leading a large-scale operation against ticketless passengers aboard the Rehman Baba Express, traveling from Peshawar to Karachi.

During the surprise inspection, a significant number of passengers were found traveling without valid tickets. The railway enforcement team, under her supervision, imposed fines and recovered over Rs 150,000 in penalties and ticket fares on the spot.

Dr. Lodhi emphasized that traveling without a ticket is not only a legal violation but also a burden on national resources, adding that strict monitoring will continue across all trains operating from Peshawar Division.

> “We are determined to ensure discipline, accountability, and revenue protection for Pakistan Railways,” she stated while addressing the staff after the operation.

Consistent Record of Enforcement

This is not the first time DCO Abida Maryam Lodhi has taken such an initiative. In September 2021, she conducted similar inspections on the Hazara Express, where fines amounting to Rs 17,630 were imposed on 12 ticketless passengers. These consistent enforcement drives highlight her proactive approach to improving operational efficiency and curbing corruption within the system.

Professional Background

Although limited personal details are available publicly, Dr. Abida Maryam Lodhi has earned recognition for her strict administrative style, field presence, and results-driven leadership in Pakistan Railways. Her proactive efforts have been praised by railway management for contributing to better revenue collection and discouraging malpractice among passengers and staff.

A Model for Discipline in Railways

Her actions reflect the renewed focus within Pakistan Railways to rebuild public confidence through transparency, accountability, and improved passenger services.
