Faisal Niaz Tirmizi Explores Digital Tax Cooperation with Russian Authorities

Moscow | 18 February 2026: The Ambassador of Pakistan to the Russian Federation, H.E. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, paid an official visit to the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation in Moscow, where he met with Commissioner Daniil Egorov to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation in tax administration and digital transformation.

During the high-level meeting, both sides discussed the growing importance of technological innovation in improving fiscal governance and ensuring transparency in tax systems. The Russian delegation briefed Ambassador Tirmizi on a range of advanced digital initiatives currently in operation across the country. These include an automated VAT control system, a comprehensive online cash register framework that enables real-time monitoring of retail transactions, and various digital tools designed to facilitate taxpayer compliance and improve administrative efficiency.

Commissioner Egorov highlighted how Russia’s digital tax ecosystem has significantly enhanced revenue collection, minimized tax evasion, and streamlined services for businesses and individuals. The integration of cutting-edge technology into tax administration has positioned Russia as a leading example of digital transformation in the fiscal sector.

Ambassador Tirmizi expressed appreciation for the high level of digitalization achieved by the Russian tax authorities and acknowledged the tangible impact such systems have had on transparency and operational efficiency.
