Commemoration of the Independence Day at the Embassy of Pakistan, Kabul

14-8-2026, KABUL: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kabul commemorated Pakistan’s 79th Independence Anniversary today, at a dignified flag hoisting ceremony. Ambassador Ubaid Ur Rehman Nizamani hoisted the Pakistani flag, following which messages from the President, Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister were read out. In his remarks, the Ambassador reaffirmed the vision outlined in the leadership’s messages and recalled the unparalleled struggle of the founding forefathers that had led to the emergence of an independent homeland.

Recalling the courage and commitment of the country’s security forces in the face of internal and external threats, the Ambassador reaffirmed the nation’s firm resolve in overcoming these challenges. He also underscored Pakistan’s stabilizing role in promoting global peace, stability and regional cooperation.

The event brought together Pakistanis working at various UN agencies and other international organizations, professionals and students in Afghanistan.
