ISLAMABAD (Zubair Kasuri): Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Pakistan Ladislav Steinhübel has described Pakistan as an important and constructive partner in efforts to promote regional and global peace, saying the Czech Republic highly values Islamabad’s commitment to resolving disputes through dialogue.
The ambassador expressed these views while addressing a reception held at the Serena Hotel, Islamabad, to mark Czech Statehood Day and Czech Armed Forces Day.
The event was attended by diplomats from various countries, defence officials, members of diplomatic missions and distinguished guests from different fields.
The reception was hosted by Ambassador Ladislav Steinhübel, his wife Dagmar Steinhübel, and Colonel Stanislav Tesařek. Czech Statehood Day is observed on September 28, while the Islamabad reception also commemorated Czech Armed Forces Day.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Steinhübel said the international community was facing complex conflicts and security challenges, making the pursuit of peaceful and sustainable solutions increasingly important.
Speaking about Pakistan’s role, the Czech ambassador said his country appreciated Pakistan’s constructive contribution to regional and international diplomacy as well as its continued emphasis on dialogue to address outstanding issues.
He said Pakistan was an important partner in efforts aimed at strengthening peace and stability at both regional and global levels.
Ambassador Steinhübel further said that Pakistan and the Czech Republic were committed to deepening their bilateral relationship and expanding cooperation, particularly in trade and defence.
The reception also provided an opportunity for diplomats and defence representatives to discuss the longstanding friendly ties between Pakistan and the Czech Republic and explore prospects for expanding cooperation between the two countries.
Federal Minister Musadik Malik also addressed the gathering. He highlighted the importance of the friendly relations between Pakistan and the Czech Republic and emphasized the need to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and people-to-people contacts.
The event concluded with exchanges among diplomats, defence representatives and other guests, reflecting the continued engagement between Pakistan and the Czech Republic.
