PAKISTAN POISED FOR ACCELERATED DIGITAL GROWTH, GSMA REPORT FINDS

Islamabad, Pakistan – August 7, 2024: A new report by the GSMA, launched at the Digital Nation Summit in Islamabad, highlights Pakistan’s significant progress in digital transformation and its potential to drive economic growth.

The report, “Realising Pakistan’s Aspiration to become a Digital Nation,” notes the country’s achievements in mobile connectivity and smartphone adoption, but emphasizes the need for concrete action and reforms to maximize these gains.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Reform, Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry, reiterated the government’s commitment to building a Digital Pakistan, supporting the tech industry and startups, and fostering innovation.

The GSMA report outlines a clear path for Pakistan to unlock its digital potential, which could spur accelerated economic growth and benefit its citizens.
