Pakistan Intensifies Mpox Prevention Efforts Amid Global Health Emergency

Islamabad News desk: In a commendable move, the Pakistani government has taken proactive measures to prevent the spread of Mpox, following the World Health Organization’s (WHO) declaration of a global health emergency. The Ministry of National Health has been directed to establish Health Monitoring/Protection Counters at all airports and entry points in Pakistan, as per the Ministry of Interior Notification. This swift and decisive action aims to enhance surveillance efforts and early detection of potential cases.

Kudos to Mr. Ayub Chaudhary Additional Secretary Border Management on whose directives Section Officer Shireen Hina Section Officer (Visa) at the Ministry of Interior, for issuing this timely directive. Her prompt response demonstrates exceptional leadership and dedication to public safety. The decision comes after the confirmation of a Mpox case in Mardan District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
