Islamabad – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather advisory, forecasting rain, wind, and thunderstorms across the upper parts of the country from November 14th to 16th. Snowfall is also expected in mountainous regions.

A frontal weather system is expected to approach the upper regions on the evening of November 14th, bringing rain and thunderstorms to areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Kurram, Orakzai, Kohat, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Light rain and thunderstorms are also expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Jhelum, Peshawar, Hangu, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Barkhan, Musakhel, Qilla Saifullah, Bhakkar, Layyah, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

The PMD predicts that these weather patterns will bring much-needed relief from the prevailing smog, improving air quality in Islamabad, the Pothohar region, parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Punjab. However, dense fog is expected to develop in the plains of Punjab following the wet spell.

Farmers and travelers are advised to plan their activities and journeys in accordance with the weather forecast. Authorities are also urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to avoid any untoward situations.
