Rabat (Morocco): His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, has
accepted an invitation from U.S. President Donald J. Trump to join as a Founding Member of a
newly proposed international initiative titled the Peace Council, according to an official statement
issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad.
The statement said the Peace Council is planned as an initiative aimed at supporting peace efforts
in the Middle East and adopting a new global approach to resolving conflicts through practical and
coordinated international action.
Invitation Recognizes Morocco’s Leadership Role: According to the Foreign Ministry,
participation in the Council will be limited to a select group of internationally respected leaders
committed to building a secure and prosperous future. The statement described the invitation as a
recognition of King Mohammed VI’s role as an indispensable peacemaker and a reflection of the
confidence he enjoys among international partners.
The ministry also noted that the invitation reflects the level of trust between the King and the U.S.
President, as well as Morocco’s diplomatic standing in global peace efforts.
Morocco to Ratify Peace Council Charter: While commending President Trump’s commitment
and vision regarding peace initiatives, King Mohammed VI graciously accepted the invitation. The
statement added that Morocco will proceed with ratifying the Charter establishing the Peace
Council.
The Peace Council will reportedly be established as an international organization, with a mission to
promote stability, strengthen governance, and ensure lasting peace in regions threatened by
conflict. Its working approach will focus on practical cooperation, effective action, and partnerships
aimed at producing measurable results.
The ministry emphasized that participation in the Council will be exclusively by invitation from the
President of the United States.
Morocco Supports Second Phase of Peace Plan: The Foreign Ministry further stated that
Morocco welcomes the announcement of the second phase of President Trump’s comprehensive
peace plan, along with the official creation of a National Committee for the Administration of Gaza
as a temporary transitional mechanism.

Reaffirming Morocco’s Position on Palestine: Reiterating Morocco’s consistent policy, the
statement concluded by stressing the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to a just, comprehensive,
and lasting peace in the Middle East, supporting the establishment of a Palestinian state within the
1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living side-by-side in peace with Israel.
