Islamabad: Zubair Kasuri: Romanian Ambassador Dr. Dan Stoenescu and Minister of State Mubarak Zeb Khan discuss education, youth employment, vocational training and access to European markets

Pakistan and Romania have discussed new avenues of bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, education, employment and development initiatives, with particular emphasis on creating economic opportunities for young people in Pakistan’s merged tribal districts.
The discussions took place during a meeting between Minister of State on Tribal Affairs Mubarak Zeb Khan and Romanian Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Dan Stoenescu at the Embassy of Romania in Islamabad on Thursday.
According to a press release issued following the meeting, both sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in sectors offering opportunities for economic growth and social development.
The meeting covered education, skills development, youth empowerment, employment generation, agriculture, rural development, tourism, cultural exchanges and technical cooperation.
Particular attention was given to development opportunities in Pakistan’s merged tribal districts, where improved educational facilities, vocational training and sustainable livelihood programmes could help create employment opportunities for local communities.
The discussions also highlighted the potential for greater Romanian investment and commercial engagement across Pakistan, including its tribal areas.
Another important aspect of the meeting was the possibility of using Romania as a gateway for Pakistani businesses and products seeking wider access to European Union markets.
Both sides explored opportunities to strengthen economic links and encourage cooperation in sectors that could benefit businesses and communities in the two countries.
Minister of State Mubarak Zeb Khan appreciated Ambassador Dr. Dan Stoenescu for hosting the meeting and providing an opportunity to exchange views on future cooperation.
