Ramiz Raja’s Hilarious Slip of the Tongue Adds Comedy to PSL 9 Post-Match Ceremony

In a comical twist during the post-match ceremony of the Islamabad United vs Multan Sultans encounter in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine, well-known commentator and presenter Ramiz Raja made an unintentionally humorous slip of the tongue.

The incident occurred after the thrilling match, where Islamabad United secured a place in the PSL 9 playoffs by defeating Multan Sultans by three wickets. While attempting to express that the performance was “paisa wusool” (money worth it), Raja mistakenly uttered “paisa fuzool” (money got wasted). Realizing his error, he swiftly corrected himself with a hearty laugh, adding an unexpected moment of amusement to the post-match proceedings.

On the field, Islamabad faced early setbacks in their chase of 229 runs, with top-order batsmen Alex Hales and Salman Ali Agha losing their wickets within the first two overs. Despite this, skipper Shadab Khan’s remarkable 54 off 31 balls and a substantial 141-run partnership helped Islamabad regain control and secure victory.

Colin Munro’s explosive innings of 84 runs off 40 balls further propelled Islamabad’s charge, ultimately leading them to the win in the last over, courtesy of Imad Wasim’s contribution. The match also witnessed Multan’s Usman Khan making history with the first-ever instance of scoring two centuries in a single PSL edition, finishing his innings with an impressive 100 off 50 balls.

Despite a shaky start for Multan, Usman Khan and Johnson Charles built an 86-run partnership, setting the stage for a challenging total of 228 runs. Charles contributed a quick 42 off 18 balls, while Usman’s attacking prowess carried Multan to a formidable score.

Ramiz Raja’s inadvertent linguistic slip added a touch of humor to the post-match analysis, highlighting the lighter side of the intense competition in PSL 9.
