Toll Tax Hike on National Highways and Motorways from July 1st, 2024

The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced a significant increase in toll taxes on national highways and motorways, effective from July 1st, 2024. The hike in toll taxes will apply to various vehicles, including cars, vans, buses, and trucks, on multiple routes, including the M1, M3, M4, M5, and Hazara Motorway.

According to the NHA, the toll tax for cars has been increased from Rs. 30 to Rs. 40, while the toll tax for vans has been increased from Rs. 50 to Rs. 70. The toll tax for buses has been increased from Rs. 100 to Rs. 130, and the toll tax for two to three-axle trucks has been increased from Rs. 120 to Rs. 150. Additionally, the toll tax for larger trucks has been increased from Rs. 250 to Rs. 350.

The NHA has also increased the toll tax on the M1 motorway from Islamabad to Peshawar, with the toll tax for cars increasing from Rs. 240 to Rs. 360, and the toll tax for vans increasing from Rs. 400 to Rs. 550. The toll tax for buses has been increased from Rs. 700 to Rs. 1,000, and the toll tax for two to three-axle trucks has been increased from Rs. 1,040 to Rs. 1,300.

Similarly, the toll tax on the Lahore-Abdul Hakeem motorway has been increased, with the toll tax for cars increasing from Rs. 350 to Rs. 500, and the toll tax for vans increasing from Rs. 570 to Rs. 750. The toll tax for buses has been increased from Rs. 850 to Rs. 1,150, and the toll tax for two to three-axle trucks has been increased from Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 2,100.

The NHA has also increased the toll tax on the M5 motorway from Multan to Sukkur, with the toll tax for cars increasing from Rs. 680 to Rs. 900, and the toll tax for vans increasing from Rs. 980 to Rs. 1,300. The toll tax for buses has been increased from Rs. 1,450 to Rs. 1,900, and the toll tax for two to three-axle trucks has been increased from Rs. 2,670 to Rs. 3,500.

The new toll tax rates will come into effect on July 1st, 2024.
