Kasur. Police in Kasur have seized over three kilograms of heroin worth millions of rupees and arrested one smuggler during an operation near the BRB canal. The operation was led by SHO Maroof Khan of Sadar Kasur police station.

The arrested individual, identified as Nawaz alias Nawaji Dogar, was involved in smuggling drugs from a border village. His accomplice managed to escape with the drone used in the operation.

Police sources say that the arrested smuggler was part of a larger network using drones to smuggle heroin across the India-Pakistan border.

Complaints about this method of smuggling had been circulating for a while, and law enforcement agencies had also submitted confidential reports to the government on the matter.

Nawaji Dogar, a resident of the Ganda Singh area of Alan, has a prior criminal record. He and his accomplice were allegedly using drones to smuggle drugs across the border, exploiting the difficult terrain and the cover of darkness to evade detection.

The arrest was made based on human intelligence during a police blockade near the BRB canal. Police acted on a tip-off and set up a checkpoint, where they intercepted Dogar and seized the heroin. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is in the millions of rupees.

This successful operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug smuggling in the region. The use of drones for smuggling poses a new challenge, but the police remain committed to using all available resources to disrupt these illegal activities.

The authorities are currently interrogating the arrested smuggler to gather more information about the network and its operations. They are also actively searching for the accomplice who managed to escape.

This incident serves as a warning to those involved in the drug trade that their activities will not go unchecked. The police are determined to bring them to justice and protect the community from the harmful effects of drugs.
