The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted a successful operation on Wednesday, raiding a tea packing unit of the renowned brand “Brooke Bond” and confiscating 450 kilograms of expired tea leaves.
Punjab Food Authority Director General Muhammad Asim Munir stated that the operation was carried out at the packing unit located in 88a/10R. During the inspection, a large quantity of expired stock was discovered, which was immediately destroyed on-site. The food business owners were also fined Rs. 2 lakhs for violating regulations.
The DG Food Authority warned that the movement of expired food would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He emphasized that providing citizens with quality and safe food is the mission of the Punjab Food Authority.
This action is part of the Punjab Food Authority’s ongoing campaign against expired and substandard food. The authority is ensuring the protection of public health by conducting such operations throughout the province.
