Ghotki (Special Correspondent) A polio campaign is set to commence in Ghotki district from December 16th to 22nd, with the goal of administering polio drops to 470,000 children. All necessary arrangements for the campaign have been finalized.
Deputy Commissioner Ghotki, Dr. Syed Muhammad Ali, chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the polio campaign. Attendees included Assistant Commissioners, DEO Dr. Rao Aftab, medical officers, and other relevant officials.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stated that the polio virus has spread alarmingly, and the registration of a polio case in Khanpur Mahar tehsil confirms the presence of the virus in Ghotki district. He stressed the need for vigilance to ensure that every child receives the polio drops. He directed the District Health Officer (DHO) to provide full support to all polio workers and to take action against any employee found negligent during the campaign.
Dr. Zaheer Domki, the E-Stop Officer, briefed the meeting, stating that 477,972 children across the district will be administered polio drops during the campaign. He confirmed that all arrangements are in place. Representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Niaz, and UNICEF, Dr. Rahim Gadani, also attended the meeting.
