Rifat Mukhtar Appointed as New IG Motorway Police

Islamabad – Special Report: The Federal Government has appointed Rifat Mukhtar, a Grade 21 officer with a strong reputation for diligence and integrity, as the new Inspector General of the National Highways & Motorway Police (NH & MP).

Previously serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Mukhtar’s appointment, effective immediately, was made under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act 1973.

Upon assuming his new responsibilities, Mr. Mukhtar was warmly received in Islamabad, where local dignitaries presented him with a floral bouquet. Members of Islamabad’s business community and government officials welcomed his leadership, expressing confidence in his ability to enhance the performance of the Motorway Police and improve travel facilities for the public.

The appointment is seen as a step towards further strengthening the NH & MP, ensuring better traffic management, road safety, and public service delivery.
