Pakistani Pilgrims Invited to Apply for Annual Urs at Kalyar Sharif, India

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has officially invited Pakistani pilgrims (Zaireen) to apply for participation in the annual Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Alauddin Ali Ahmad Sabir (RA)

Islamabad, Pakistan – March 3, 2025 – The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has officially invited Pakistani pilgrims (Zaireen) to apply for participation in the annual Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Alauddin Ali Ahmad Sabir (RA), scheduled to be held in Kalyar Sharif, India, from September 1 to 8, 2025.

As one of the most revered Sufi saints of the Chishti order, Hazrat Khawaja Alauddin Ali Ahmad Sabir (RA) attracts thousands of devotees from across the world to his shrine in Kalyar Sharif each year. The Urs serves as a spiritual commemoration of his life, teachings, and lasting influence on Sufism.

Application Process and Deadline

The Ministry has allocated 200 slots for Pakistani pilgrims to attend the Urs. Interested individuals must submit their applications using the prescribed Ziarat application form to the Section Officer (Ziarat) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony in Islamabad. The deadline for submission is March 15, 2025.

If the number of applicants exceeds the available slots, a ballot will be conducted on April 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Ministry’s office in Islamabad to finalize the list of selected pilgrims.

Important Guidelines for Applicants

  • Application forms must be submitted in the latest prescribed format. Outdated or previously used forms will not be accepted.
  • Detailed information, including the application form and instructions, is available on the official Ministry website: mora.gov.pk.
  • Selected pilgrims will be required to complete all necessary travel and visa formalities in accordance with the regulations set by both Pakistan and India.
