The project involved upgrading Jazz’s Subscriber Data Management (SDM) platform.

Every time a customer makes a phone call, sends a text message, or connects to mobile internet, the Subscriber Data Management system helps verify the user’s identity and allows access to network services.
Previously, Jazz was using older subscriber management systems.
With this latest upgrade, those older systems have now been replaced with Nokia’s cloud-native Subscriber Data Layer (SDL), which is installed on Jazz’s own infrastructure.
The new platform is designed to be much faster, more flexible, and easier to expand as the number of customers and digital services continues to grow.
One of the biggest improvements is that Jazz has combined its older HLR (Home Location Register) and HSS (Home Subscriber Server) systems into one modern platform.
