Xiaomi Launches Smart Bathroom Heater With Human Detection

Xiaomi has introduced a new smart home product in China called the Mijia Smart Bathroom Heater P1 Human Sensing Edition. It is a ceiling-mounted device that combines a bathroom heater, LED light, and exhaust fan into one unit. The company says it is designed to make bathrooms warmer, brighter, and more comfortable while also saving energy.

The biggest feature of this new bathroom heater is its 24GHz radar sensor. Unlike normal motion sensors that only detect movement, this radar sensor can tell if a person is still inside the bathroom, even if they are standing or sitting without moving. This helps the device work more accurately.

When someone enters the bathroom, the radar sensor automatically turns on the light. It also keeps the exhaust fan running while the bathroom is being used. Once the person leaves, the system automatically turns off the light, fan, and heating after a short time. Users can also adjust the sensor’s detection range and sensitivity to reduce false detections, such as when someone walks past an open bathroom door.

The Mijia Smart Bathroom Heater P1 comes with a powerful 3,000W graphene heating system. Graphene heating is known for warming up quickly, helping the bathroom become comfortable in a short time. Instead of always running at full power, the heater uses a smart variable frequency control system that adjusts its power to keep the selected temperature steady. This can improve comfort and reduce unnecessary power use.

To spread warm air evenly, the heater has an adjustable air outlet that moves between 60 and 90 degrees. It pushes warm air down toward the floor, making the whole bathroom feel warmer instead of only heating one area.

Another useful feature is that the heater and exhaust fan can work at the same time. Thanks to its dual DC motors, users do not have to choose between heating and ventilation. The exhaust fan can move around 259 cubic meters of air every hour, helping remove steam, moisture, and bad smells while the room stays warm.

The device also includes a built-in retractable LED ceiling light. When not in use, the light sits neatly inside the ceiling for a clean appearance. It can produce up to 1,500 lumens of brightness, making it suitable for daily bathroom use. Users can also change the light color from a warm 3,000K to a cool 6,200K, depending on their preference. A special night light mode provides soft lighting for nighttime visits without being too bright.

The bathroom heater works with the Mi Home app and Xiaomi’s HyperOS smart home platform. Users can control the heater, fan, and light from their smartphone, create schedules, and use voice commands to operate the device. Xiaomi also includes an IPX4 water-resistant wireless wall switch, which fits into a standard 86mm electrical box. This allows users to control the device manually without installing extra wiring.

The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Bathroom Heater P1 Human Sensing Edition will be available through crowdfunding in China next week with a price of around $148. At the moment, Xiaomi has not announced whether it will launch the product in other countries.
