ISLAMABAD: Zubair Kasuri: The Embassy of Pakistan in Muscat commemorated Pakistan’s Defence and Martyrs Day with a ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Muscat, paying tribute to the sacrifices of the country’s Armed Forces and martyrs.
The event was attended by senior military officials from the Sultan’s Armed Forces and the Royal Oman Police Coast Guard, members of the diplomatic corps, defence attachés, Omani officials and prominent members of the Pakistani community. Air Cdre Malik Al Naumani of the Royal Air Force of Oman attended as the chief guest.
Pakistan’s Defence Attaché to Oman, Captain Muhammad Ziaullah, highlighted the significance of Defence Day and the professional excellence achieved by Pakistan’s Armed Forces through decades of commitment and dedication. He also stressed the importance of further strengthening defence ties and bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Oman.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Oman, Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of Pakistan’s Armed Forces, martyrs and their families. Referring to developments in the Middle East, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace, regional stability and constructive dialogue, while highlighting the country’s diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions.
The ceremony also featured a patriotic video song and a colourful cultural performance by students of Pakistan School Muscat.
The event concluded with tributes to Pakistan’s Shuhada and Ghazis and a renewed commitment to national sovereignty, peace and international harmony.
