Pakistan – A local imam, Muhammad Mohsin, is facing serious allegations of sexual assault after a resident of Mohalla Azizpura, Bilal, filed a First Information Report (FIR) with the Sadar Kharian Police Station.
According to the FIR, the incident occurred on the evening of October 1st, 2024, following Isha prayers at a local mosque. Bilal alleges that Mohsin, who is originally from Muzaffargarh district, lured him into a room adjacent to the mosque under the pretense of discussing the evening’s Quranic lesson. There, Mohsin allegedly assaulted Bilal.
Bilal claims that Mohsin threatened him with further violence if he reported the incident. However, Bilal confided in a friend, Ammar Ghani, who accompanied him to confront the imam. Mohsin reportedly fled upon seeing them.
The FIR, registered by ASI Abid Hussain, details Bilal’s account of the assault and the subsequent police investigation. A copy of the FIR has been forwarded to the relevant authorities, including SI/SSOTU Tahir Zaman, for further action.
This incident has shocked the local community, where Mohsin served as a respected religious figure. The police are currently investigating the matter, and further details are awaited.
