vivo is getting ready to launch its new foldable smartphone, the vivo X Fold6, in China on June 26. Before the official launch, a new leak has revealed the expected prices of the device, and it appears that the phone could be much more expensive than the previous model.
According to leaked information shared online, the base version of the vivo X Fold6 with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage may be priced at CNY 9,999. For comparison, the previous vivo X Fold5 with the same memory configuration was launched at CNY 6,999. This means the new model could cost over 40 percent more than its predecessor.
The leaked prices for other variants are also quite high. The 12GB RAM and 512GB storage version may cost CNY 10,999. The 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model is expected to be priced at CNY 11,499. Meanwhile, the top variant with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage could cost CNY 12,499, making it one of the most expensive foldable phones ever launched by vivo.
Despite the price increase, the vivo X Fold6 is expected to bring several major upgrades. One of the biggest highlights is its large 7,000mAh battery. This is a very large battery for a foldable smartphone and should provide excellent battery life for heavy users.
The phone is also expected to offer strong durability. Reports suggest it will come with IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance ratings, helping protect the device from water exposure. vivo is also said to have improved the folding hinge, making it stronger and smoother to use.
In terms of performance, the vivo X Fold6 is expected to feature the powerful Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor. Combined with up to 16GB of RAM, the phone should handle gaming, multitasking, and demanding applications without any issues. It will likely run OriginOS 6 Fold, which is optimized for foldable smartphones.
The display is another major attraction. The device may feature a large 8.02-inch flexible inner screen, providing plenty of space for watching videos, playing games, reading, and multitasking.
For photography lovers, the vivo X Fold6 is expected to include a 200MP main camera along with a periscope telephoto camera that uses Sony’s LYT-602 sensor. This setup could deliver better image quality, improved zoom performance, and more detailed photos.
The foldable smartphone is expected to arrive in Blue Hole, Black Gold Edition, Salt Lake, and Polar Night color options.
