ISLAMABAD, Special Report: More than 100 Pakistanis have received training in 3D printing, coding and digital modelling under the US Embassy’s STEAM Builder programme, which concluded at Lincoln Corner
The closing ceremony brought together participants and trainers from six Lincoln Corners across Pakistan, highlighting the nationwide reach of the technology and skills-building initiative.
Implemented in collaboration with Pakistani technology firm AzCorps, the programme provided participants with practical experience using modern technological tools and sought to equip young innovators with skills relevant to the rapidly evolving digital economy.
Speaking at the ceremony, Acting Minister Counsellor for Public Diplomacy David Moyer said the initiative went beyond conventional training.
“STEAM Builder is more than a training programme. It is a statement about Lincoln Corners serving as hubs of technology, creativity, and opportunity where Pakistan’s rising STEAM talent gain tools and skills drawing upon American technology and educational models that fuel innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth,” he said.
As part of the US Mission’s Freedom 250 initiative, participants also produced a 3D-printed Liberty Bell and a 3D-printed map of the United States. Both items were unveiled at the ceremony and will be permanently displayed at Lincoln Corner Islamabad, located at the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP).
The Lincoln Corners network currently operates at 15 locations across Pakistan. According to the US Embassy, the network plans to expand its STEAM-focused programmes in 2027, when Pakistan and the United States will mark the 80th anniversary of bilateral relations.
