Mobilink subscribers can now get their hands on more than 300,000 applications and games, after Mobilink launched a subscription based App Store, for the first time in Pakistan. It is powered by the Opera Mobile Store, the third-largest app store in the world.

The App Store offers Mobilink subscribers access to 3,500-5,000 premium apps. This includes popular mobile-gaming hits such Drag Racing 3D, Defend the Bunker 2, Tom and Jerry – Mouse Maze 2 and many others. The app store also adds new apps and games by leading app developers to its database every week, ensuring users are kept entertained and informed throughout.

“This collaboration with Opera allows us to offer our smartphone customers the latest and best apps at an affordable price. The App Store is an interesting proposition for mobile gamers and those who would like to access content such as dictionaries, photo editors and other apps. This partnership is also in line with Mobilink’s vision of leading the digital revolution – both from connectivity and content perspectives.  We are always looking at ways of enriching the lives of our customers,” said Aamir Ibrahim, CCO & Deputy CEO – Mobilink.

“Many users hesitate to download premium apps because of two factors: being uncomfortable with online payment methods or uncertain about which paid apps to invest in. The Opera App Store helps in reducing these barriers and makes it more convenient for users to enjoy premium maps,” says Lars Boilesen, CEO of Opera. “We are happy to partner with Mobilink and provide engaging content and apps to its users in the country.”

This app store service is available to all Mobilink subscribers on an ‘all you can eat’ weekly subscription of PKR 30. New subscribers are offered a 7-day trial upon subscription, during which they can download apps for free. The subscription amount will be deducted from the prepaid balance. The apps available through this service are compatible with Android smartphones and Java based phones.
