Zong Celebrates Success of its Graduate Trainee Program

Zong recently announced that after the success of the first-of-its-kind Graduate Trainee Programme (GTP) is proud to offer permanent employment to the fresh graduates who were engaged under the GTP. The highly educated youth who have been trained extensively in line with the GTP launched earlier this year, are now part of Zong’s permanent workforce.

As many as 88 young graduates were selected for this programme after a detailed evaluation and scrutiny on the basis of their educational competence and intellectual capabilities from 30 leading educational institutions located across Pakistan. They were then developed through a specially tailored developmental plan, designed to nurture the capabilities of each trainee.

Over the period of one year, the trainees got exposure to various departments, received off-job trainings and were made part of dedicated mentoring programs. The top performing graduates who have successfully completed their trainee period have been hired at permanent positions and have become part of Pakistan’s fastest growing and the only 3G and 4G services provider in the county.

The company held a ceremony at the head office to honour its budding talent. Addressing the ‘Recognition and Graduation Ceremony 2015’, Zong’s Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) Ms. Wang Haibo said “The Zong GTP is all about identifying and nurturing talent by providing them the opportunity to ‘become future leaders’. Zong is not only about hiring the toppers’ we believe in hiring well-rounded resources who have not only excelled at their studies but are in congruence with the core values of Zong”.
