PTCL Celebrates International Women’s Day

Islamabad, March 14, 2016: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has organized a seminar on the International Women’s Day to celebrate the contribution of women in general and female PTCL employees in particular, towards making the world a better place.

The theme of the seminar was ‘RENEW – Respect, Educate, Nurture & Empower Women.’ For PTCL, it has always been an honor to pay tribute to women who have changed the course of history, sometimes in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles. A woman is a full circle and has the power to create, nurture and transform.

Eminent speakers included Ms. Bano Qudsia, Ms. Haseena Moin, Mr. Hasan Nisar and Mr. Mustansar Hussain Tarrar, who have contributed exceptionally to the cause of women and have also taken great strides to stand out and shine in their respective fields.

The speakers emphasized that this occasion should be taken as an opportunity to take stock of progress made towards achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment, as women have a vital contribution in peaceful and sustainable societies.

Syed Mazhar Hussain, Chief Human Resource Officer, PTCL said on the occasion: “Such events serve as landmarks that set the agenda for realizing women’s achievements in our society; PTCL is a strong advocate of gender equality and promotes talent regardless of gender bias. The idea is not to treat women in a special way but to treat them as equals and without any stereotyping. PTCL takes pride in encouraging gender diversity at the workplace and firmly believes that women have the ability to perform with equal skill and success in virtually all spheres of life.
