Islamabad, Special Report: In a shocking move, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has demolished and sealed the parking lot of Hotel Ramada International Islamabad, citing unpaid monthly fees.
According to sources, the CDA Chairman took the action after the hotel failed to pay the monthly amount, which other international hotels pay for using the parking facility.
However, hotel sources allege that CDA officers are using this as a tactic to extort bribes, a practice that has been ongoing for years. They claim that CDA officers have been collecting millions of rupees in bribes every month from international and local hotels, allowing them to use the parking lots without legal action.
The destruction of the parking lot has raised questions about the CDA’s motives and the prevalence of corruption within the organization. An investigation into the matter is expected to follow.
