LANDMARK PARTNERSHIP SET TO REVOLUTIONIZE PUNJAB’S LAND RECORD SYSTEM

Lahore, Pakistan – In a groundbreaking move, LMKR and Punjab Urban Land Systems Enhancement (PULSE) have joined forces to develop and implement a cutting-edge Land Record Management Information System (LRMIS) for the province of Punjab.

The agreement, signed on July 26, aims to modernize land record management, boosting transparency, efficiency, and accessibility for landowners and stakeholders. The new LRMIS will create a unified, centralized database encompassing all land records across Punjab, including rural, urban, peri-urban, and Katchi Abadi areas.

By integrating traditional land records with advanced GIS technology, LMKR will deliver a robust and scalable solution, addressing the complexities of the existing system. This initiative will provide landowners with a single source of truth for all property information, enabling easy access to digital ownership documents and facilitating land transactions.

The project, worth $150 million, will be implemented by the Punjab Land Records Authority, Province of Punjab, Board of Revenue. Building upon the success of the previous LRMIS project, which digitized over 55 million landowners’ records, this partnership is set to transform Punjab’s land record system, promoting efficient land use practices and addressing challenges associated with rapid urbanization and environmental degradation.
