PAKISTANI MISSION CONFIRMS RESCUE OF FOUR CITIZENS FROM SCAM CENTERS

 

Islamabad, Special report Pakistan – The Pakistani Mission in Yangon has confirmed that four Pakistani citizens held captive by scam centers have been rescued and returned to Pakistan.

According to a statement, Mr. Saqib Mushtaq and Mr. Waqar Ullah, two of the rescued individuals, revealed that a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Mae Sot, Thailand, negotiated their release.

– Two individuals, Mr. Adnan Abbasi and Mr. Abdul Jasim, also returned to Pakistan

*REACTION FROM PAKISTANI AUTHORITIES*

“The Mission is relieved that our citizens have been rescued and returned home safely,” said a spokesperson. “We appreciate the efforts of the NGO involved and will continue to work towards protecting Pakistani citizens abroad.”

*INVESTIGATION ONGOING*

Authorities are investigating the scam centers and working to apprehend those responsible.

Pakistani citizens are advised to exercise caution when traveling abroad and to verify the authenticity of job or business opportunities.
