Anti-Polio Campaign Launched in Ghotki, Aiming to Vaccinate 477,000 Children

Ghotki (Special Correspondent) – Preparations for the anti-polio campaign starting from February 3rd in Ghotki district have been completed. During this campaign, 477,000 children across the district will be administered polio drops.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Syed Muhammad Ali inaugurated the campaign by administering polio drops to children at the DHQ Hospital. Speaking at the polio walk organized on the occasion, he said that the purpose of the walk is to raise public awareness about polio. He appealed to the educated citizens of the district to inform people in their areas about the poliovirus. Dr. Syed Muhammad Ali said that a polio-free Pakistan is a dream of all of us and it is the national duty of all citizens, including the relevant institutions, to play their role in the fight against the poliovirus.
A large number of polio workers, including DHO Dr. Rao Aftab, WHO’s Dr. Niaz and UNICEF’s Dr. Rahim Gadani, participated in the opening ceremony and polio walk.
