Human Smuggler Arrested for Sending Fake Football Team to Japan

Gujranwala – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Composite Circle Gujranwala carried out a major operation and arrested a notorious human smuggler, Waqas Ali, for sending 17 youths to Japan on the basis of a fake football team registration.

According to FIA officials, the accused used a forged registration certificate of the Pakistan Football Federation along with a fake No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to secure Japanese visit visas.

Investigations revealed that Waqas Ali charged each citizen between Rs. 4 million and Rs. 4.5 million, and sent 17 individuals to Japan on January 1, 2024.

The FIA spokesperson further confirmed that the accused has multiple cases registered against him in Gujranwala and had also arranged another fake 22-member football team to Japan earlier this year.

Authorities said further interrogation is underway, while raids are being conducted to arrest other facilitators linked to the racket.
