Jahangir Khan Tareen Inaugurates Modern Science and IT Labs in Khanewal Schools

Khanewal – Staff Report: Renowned industrialist and former federal minister Jahangir Khan Tareen visited Khanewal, where he inaugurated newly established Science and Computer Laboratories at Government Model High Schools. The state-of-the-art facilities have been developed with the support of the Tareen Education Foundation (TEF) to promote modern education among students.

Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Salma Suleman, Jahangir Khan Tareen formally opened the labs and toured the classrooms, interacting with students and teachers. He also planted trees on the school premises as part of a green initiative.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Tareen highlighted the vital role of information technology in shaping Pakistan’s future.

> “Our young generation must embrace IT and scientific learning to create opportunities for themselves and contribute to the nation’s progress,” he stated.

He further remarked that the country is facing a shortage of effective leadership, which can only be overcome through education, innovation, and skill development. Tareen also noted that he has stepped away from politics to focus on social welfare and educational uplift projects.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Salma Suleman appreciated Jahangir Khan Tareen and the Tareen Education Foundation for their continued efforts in improving educational infrastructure, saying the newly established labs will provide students with better access to modern learning resources and practical knowledge.
