Infinix Zero 30 Touchscreen Not Responding Causes and Full Solutions

The Infinix Zero 30 is a powerful phone with a smooth display and modern features, but many users face an annoying issue where the touchscreen stops responding. Sometimes the screen becomes slow, sometimes it lags, and other times it stops working completely for a few seconds. This problem can appear while typing, gaming, scrolling, or opening apps.

Touchscreen issues usually begin when the phone is processing too many tasks at the same time. If multiple apps running in the background, the processor and RAM get overloaded. When this happens, the screen takes longer to respond, and touch feels delayed. Closing heavy apps and restarting the phone often brings immediate improvement.

Another common cause is a software glitch in the XOS system. When certain system files become corrupted or when the phone hasn’t been restarted for many days, the touch system becomes unstable. A quick reboot refreshes the system and resets the touch drivers. If the issue started after a recent update, it may due to temporary bugs that will be fixed in the next update.

Screen protectors also affect touch sensitivity. A low-quality tampered glass, thick protector, or an old protector with dust underneath can weaken touch signals. This makes the touchscreen feel unresponsive, especially at the edges. Removing the protector and testing the phone without it helps identify if the protector is causing the issue. Using a good-quality ultra-thin glass usually fixes this entirely.

Dirt, sweat, or moisture on the screen can interfere with touch sensitivity. Even small oil marks reduce the accuracy of touch input. Cleaning the display with a soft microfiber cloth often restores sensitivity immediately. Avoid using wet tissues or chemical cleaners because they damage the coating on the screen.

A low battery can also make the touchscreen slow. When battery levels drop to 5–10 percent, the phone automatically reduces performance to save power. This causes lag while touching or scrolling. Keeping the phone charged above 20 percent helps maintain smooth touch response throughout the day.

Many users experience touch issues when the phone overheats. The Infinix Zero 30 has a fast processor, and long gaming sessions, video recording, or high brightness can heat up the device. When temperatures are too high, the phone slows down the touch response to protect the hardware. Allowing the device to cool for a few minutes solves the problem temporarily. Reducing graphics settings during gaming also helps control heat.

Internal storage plays an important role in touchscreen performance. When storage is almost full, the phone slows down because it cannot create app cache or temporary files. This affects the speed of animations and results in delayed touch response. Keeping at least 10–12 GB free space improves the overall performance of the device.

Sometimes the issue comes from a specific app and not the phone itself. Apps like TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram use heavy animations and can freeze or slow down the touch. Clearing app cache or updating the app usually solves the problem. If one app constantly freezes, uninstalling and reinstalling it is the best option.

Damage to the phone is another reason for unresponsive touch. If the phone was dropped, hit, or exposed to water, the touchscreen connectors can become loose. This causes random dead spots on the screen where the touch does not register. In severe cases, the entire screen may stop responding. These issues require professional repair and cannot be fixed through software.

Hardware faults like a damaged digitizer, display malfunction, or a weak touch IC can also cause repeated unresponsiveness. These problems usually become worse over time, and the screen may start responding only after pressing hard. Visiting a service center has the only solution if hardware damage has confirmed.

Another common issue is ghost touch, where the screen responds by itself. This happens due to moisture inside the phone, cheap chargers, or damaged cables. Using only original chargers and keeping the phone in a dry place helps prevent this problem.

Resetting settings can also help when all other methods fail. A settings reset does not delete your data; it only refreshes system controls that affect touch sensitivity. If the issue continues even after a reset, a full factory reset may be necessary. Back up your data before performing a factory reset.

Keeping the phone updated is important because software updates include fixes for touch problems, lag issues, and system stability. If your Infinix Zero 30 has an available update, installing it may solve the problem instantly.

If the touchscreen still does not respond properly after all these steps, then the issue has likely hardware-related. A certified technician can check the internal components and replace the faulty parts.
