On December 11, 2025, Pakistan House in Moscow became the center of an important academic and diplomatic exchange. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, H.E. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, welcomed a delegation led by H.E. Baklanov Andrey Glebovich, the former Ambassador of Russia to Saudi Arabia and a senior professor at the Higher School of Economics (HSE).
A Delegation Focused on Learning and Diplomacy
Professor Baklanov arrived with a diverse group of international relations students from Pakistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. The visit was arranged to give students a closer look at Pakistan’s diplomatic priorities, regional vision, and the future of Pakistan–Russia relations.

In an engaging interactive session, Ambassador Tirmizi walked the students through Pakistan’s deep historical roots. He spoke about the Indus Valley Civilization and its importance in shaping the cultural identity of the region. His discussion helped the students understand how Pakistan’s ancient legacy influences its modern outlook.
Pakistan–Russia Ties on a Positive Track
Ambassador Tirmizi also highlighted how Pakistan and Russia have strengthened cooperation over the years. He touched on key areas such as:

Invitation for a Special Lecture
At the end of the meeting, the Higher School of Economics formally invited Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi to deliver a special lecture at HSE Moscow. The proposed lecture is expected to further enhance academic cooperation and promote deeper understanding between Pakistani and Russian institutions.
