Shikarpur: The number of dacoits killed in the major police operation has risen to six, according to a police spokesperson. A fierce exchange of fire took place between police and armed dacoits in the Manchhar Shah area within the jurisdiction of New Foujdari Police Station, resulting in the death of two more dacoits. With the latest casualties, the total number of slain dacoits has reached six, while several others are reported injured.
The deceased have been identified as Imdad Sheikh, Shahzado Sheikh, Shahmoor Sheikh, while two remain unidentified. The operation was launched immediately after police received credible information regarding the presence of armed criminals in the area.
The dacoits opened indiscriminate fire on the police party, prompting a strong retaliatory response. During the exchange of fire, DSP City Paras Bkhrani, DSP Zahoor Soomro, and four other police personnel sustained injuries. The injured have been shifted to Sukkur Hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.
Heavy contingents of police, armored vehicles, and drone technology are being used to accelerate the operation. Police have cordoned off Manchhar Shah and the surrounding areas, sealing all entry and exit routes. The search operation has been further intensified to trace the fleeing suspects, with strict monitoring of all suspicious locations.
Officials say the operation will continue until the last criminal is brought to justice, reaffirming that no compromise will be made against elements disturbing peace.
